Writing Classes and Workshops

George Orwell said “If people cannot write well, they cannot think well, and if they cannot think well, others will do their thinking for them.” ActivTimes strives to create the highest caliber of Activity Professionals and one necessary skill for an AP to have is the ability to write. We offer publications, templates, and classes to teach Activity Professionals to become better writers and communicators. Our instructor, Hayley Moseley, MA ACC has a Master’s Degree in English and teaches Composition and Rhetoric at a local college.

ActivTimes offers classes and workshops in the following categories:

• Introduction to English composition: sentences, paragraphs, punctuation, and grammar.
• Human Resources: resumes, incident reports, job offer letters, department policies and procedures, etc.
• Correspondence to families, volunteers, donors, etc.
• Basic email etiquette
• Articles for newsletters, publications, and resident groups
• Grants and donation requests
• Documentation: care plans, assessments, incident reports
• Volunteers: handbooks and training materials, policies and procedures, instruction manuals
